Hikeable Nockberge mountains

Heidi-Hotel - The children's and hiking hotel in the Carinthian mountains

The beauty of the stunning mountain world surrounding the Heidi-Alm will even whet confirmed couch potatoes’ appetite for hiking. What better way to enjoy the experience of hiking in the mountains than on a family-friendly hike?

Our greatest attraction is without a doubt the Heidi-Alm children's adventure park. 26 scenes along a trail make the story of Heidi and her friends come alive. The Heidi quiz takes the young participants on a one-hour walk through the park. There's no time for boredom and in the end there's even the chance to win a prize.

    The family hike

The best way to get to know the area is to start with a circular family hike at Falkert. As the tour starts at an altitude of 1,875 meters above sea level, there are no major climbs to manage.

Enjoy your first impressions of the imposing Nockberge mountains at a leisurely pace.

    The pony trekking

Together with all the ponies, we set out on a guided hike across the alpine pastures once a week.

Everyone gets to ride, everyone gets to lead. A real highlight for all riding-loving kids and their parents!

    The guided hike

For families with children aged 9 years and above (around 3 - 3.5 hours). Once a week, mountain hiking guide Lukas heads out with a group of experienced hikers on a tour through the Nockberge Biosphere Park.

The destination of the hike is a cozy mountain hut which awaits with refreshments. We return comfortably with the hiking bus.

    Treasure hunt

Alm-Öhi, Heidi's grandfather, has hidden a treasure chest. Be the first to find the clues and discover the treasure?

In any case, we are excited to see what he has hidden for us this time!

    The Carinthian Nockberge Mountains

    Nockberge Biosphere Park

The gently rolling Nockberge mountains, rising from the Lieser valley and extending towards the Turracher Höhe area, provide a unique Alpine mountain range in the heart of beautiful Carinthia.

The name "Nock" comes from the round shape of the peaks between 2,200m and 2,300m above sea level. Admire the varied fauna and flora of the stunning nature reserve which was awarded its status as National Park by the Carinthian authorities in 1987.
