Climbing & Via ferrata

No matter what age, human beings have always had an inherent natural instinct to climb. Climbing up trees and rocks promotes one’s natural desire for movement and should be encouraged and supported.

Climbing wall

At the Heidi-Hotel, the 12 meter high “Nordwand” rock climbing facility offers perfect conditions for the right start into this sport.

Beginner’s via ferrata

Guests then move on to the beginner’s via ferrata right behind Heidi-Hotel. At the top they are rescued from a tiring descent and instead taken off on a unique outdoor adventure as they glide back to the hotel on a giant slide called zip line.

Falkensteig

Falkert holds genuine challenges for experienced climbers and intrepid mountaineers: the Falkertspitz summit cannot only be reached via the usual hiking paths but also on the Falkensteig via ferrata (difficulty level C – D) whose entrance is situated in the Sonntagstal valley and takes climbers up to just below the Falkertspitz summit cross! Providing a fantastic view over the whole of Carinthia, this rope route will certainly be a rewarding experience.

Climbing on the wall and on the beginner’s via ferrata are part of the Heidi-Alm activity program offer and FREE for Heidi-Hotel guests.
